If you do not like the new look and feel of MSN, the news is not good. It’s likely the old interface will disappear forever.
Your choice at that time is limited:
Live with it
Find another site as the homepage of your browser.
Personally – I do not have strong feelings about the change. It is just a web page, and its design is just one, using current design practice is. I can take it or leave it, so I expect when needed I will simply adapt.
But, as I said above, it’s all a matter of taste and that’s just me.
And there is no interface, old or new, will satisfy everyone.
As I wrote today, in September 2014, the changes in the mode “Preview”. As of May preview appears to end and the change appears to be permanent.
If you access the MSN you will see your site’s home page looks like this:
Note the notification banner at the top of the page preview. Click View earlier today and you’ll get a little pop-up ads to tell you how wonderful the new MSN will be:
Click Start Now, and you will move to the new MSN look and feel.
As you can see it quite differently.
Note that there is a feedback button on the bottom right. Click on that, and you will receive a form of “Send Feedback” you can fill:
So, you have a way to get your opinion on the changes back to Microsoft. However, I do not want you to get your hopes up. As I will discuss in a moment, it is very difficult to change like this can be avoided.
While this new look is in “preview”, you can go back to the old interface. Click the gear icon in the upper right corner of the MSN home page, and you will get a drop-down menu:
Click Exit preview and you’ll end up back with the old MSN interface as before this latest change.
Important: if “Exit Preview” line is not present, then it is very likely that the preview period ends, and the new interface has become the interface for MSN.com.
Simple, really: the internet almost requires a change. Competition requires change.
